Code of Conduct

Introduction

As members of the Codecademy WebDev Study Groups 2025, we are committed to creating an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive environment for learning and growth. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for participation and behavior to ensure a positive experience for everyone.

Our Values

We value:

  • Respect: Treat all members with kindness and consideration, regardless of their skill level or background.
  • Collaboration: Foster a spirit of teamwork and learning through constructive communication.
  • Inclusivity: Create a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and heard.
  • Integrity: Act with honesty and accountability in all interactions.

Expected Behavior

All participants are expected to:

  • Be respectful of different perspectives, ideas, and experiences.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support others in their learning journey.
  • Communicate clearly and kindly, avoiding language that could be considered harmful or offensive.
  • Follow the repository guidelines and contribute responsibly.

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior includes but is not limited to:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind.
  • Use of inappropriate, offensive, or derogatory language.
  • Disrespecting others’ contributions or dismissing their efforts.
  • Plagiarizing or misusing others’ code without permission.
  • Any other actions that violate the collaborative and inclusive spirit of the group.

Reporting Issues

If you witness or experience behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the study group managers .

All reports will be handled confidentially, and appropriate actions will be taken to address the situation.

Enforcement

Participants asked to stop unacceptable behavior are expected to comply immediately. Violations may result in:

  • A warning from the study group managers.
  • Temporary or permanent removal from the repository and/or study group.

This Code of Conduct is inspired by and adapted from open-source community standards. By participating in this study group, you agree to uphold these principles.
