I can only open one terminal at a time.
I tryed to ulimit the terminal but i have still the same problems.
and i tried to set up from scratch again and i got the same problem.

What do these commands give you?

How are you launching code-server? systemd? If so can you also run systemctl show code-server --property=LimitNPROC?

Is this a self-hosted server or in a cloud somewhere? Is it a VM? There might be limits set by the cloud provider.

I tried to add 2 parameters to /etc/sysctl.conf it seem to change nothing

Thank you for posting that information! It does not seem like there is a low limit set so I wonder if it has anything to do with shared resources on the virtual machine. Could you also check that your memory usage is not maxed out while running code-server? For example with htop and/or something like ps -o pid,user,%mem,command ax | sort -b -k3 -r.

You could try adding --disable-telemetry to the code-server command. I think that will prevent the mac address script from running and maybe that will give you just enough available processes to start successfully but it might not help at all.

We might also want to see if you can reproduce by spawning processes that are not code-server. For example you could spawn a few processes with something like stress-ng --vm-bytes 100M --vm-keep --vm 10 --vm-hang 1 (sudo apt install stress-ng). You can increase --vm-hang if it is using too much CPU.

If that does not work and memory looks OK I am not sure where to go from here. If it is a shared resource issue you might need to contact Strato.
