I frequently run into issues trying to run statistical facets on my data sets. When trying to total a few hours worth of data we can easily go over the 64bit long value. It would make things much easier if ES implemented http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/math/BigInteger.html or something similar. Which would allow people to sum large amounts of data.

Thanks for reporting this issue. I was just looking at the term stats facets which seems to use doubles for computing the sum so this shouldn't overflow. Can you give more details on the facet query that you are running so that I can try to find where the overflow happens?

Closing as facets have been deprecated: #6485 Please open a new issue if you have a similar problem on aggregations.
