/kind bug

What steps did you take and what happened:

I tried to install CAPA to Kubernetes 1.31 using Cluster API Operator. It failed to install because of the dummy CA bundle included in the CRDs.

What did you expect to happen:

I expected the installation to succeed.

Anything else you would like to add:

This bug was already picked up and fixed in Cluster API and Cluster API Operator. See those issues for more context, especially the first one.

Environment:

  • Cluster-api-provider-aws version: v2.7.1
  • Kubernetes version: (use kubectl version): v.1.31.1-eks-ce1d5eb
  • OS (e.g. from /etc/os-release): N/A
