What problem does this feature solve?

Actually platform versions are stuck in 6.0.x by default. It causes issues like this one: NativeScript/nativescript-cli#4330.

Actually, platform are available in their 6.4.x versions.

What does the proposed API look like?

Is it possible to automatically use latest platform versions?
