### Step 1: choose the right CMS

You can use a CMS (Content Management System) to build your website via an easy-to-use interface. There are several types, each designed to suit certain projects. By using a CMS, you will get a ready-to-use website template that you can customise with a variety of themes, texts, and much more.

OVH offers a selection of 4 CMSs as 1-click modules. By using this solution, you will need to choose from this list. If you have already chosen a CMS from the list, you can start following the steps in this tutorial. If have not yet chosen which CMS to use, this [CMS comparison page](https://www.ovh.co.uk/web-hosting/website/cms-comparison/) can help you decide which one would best suit your project.

If you would like to install a CMS that isn’t offered as an OVH 1-click module, you can install it manually on your web hosting plan, provided that the CMS is compatible with your plan (see our web hosting plans [here](https://www.ovh.co.uk/web-hosting/).

### Step 2: access the 1-click module manager

In the services bar on the left-hand side of your OVH Control Panel, go to the `Web hosting`{.action} section, then click on the web hosting plan that you have just ordered. Then click the `1-click modules`{.action} tab.

Here, you can look at the 1-click modules you have already installed, manage them and install new ones.

### Step 3: add a module

You can launch the installation of a 1-click module by clicking `Add a module`{.action}.

In the window that opens, select the CMS you would like to use, and the domain you would like to set up your website on:

If the domain you want to use does not appear in the list, go to the `Multi-site`{.action} tab to add it, then try adding a module again.

Once you have selected your domain, you must choose between basic or advanced installation:

- **For basic installation (selected by default):** we will install your CMS, and send you the admin credentials. This is the simplest, quickest way to install a module.

- **For advanced installation:** you can customise the configuration applied to your CMS installation. For this, you will need to enter information that is essential for your CMS to work properly on your database: login details, installation directory, language, admin credentials, etc.

#### Basic module installation

To carry out this installation, check that the `Installation in advanced mode`{.action} box is not ticked, then click `Install`{.action}.

Once the installation process is complete, you will receive an email containing the information you need to log in to the CMS admin interface. You can now log in to the admin interface, and start customising your website.

#### Advanced module installation

To complete this installation, check that the `Installation in advanced mode`{.action} box is ticked, then click `Next`{.action}.

##### Choose a database

You must now enter the information required to connect to your database. There are several options:

- **If you have already created a database on your web hosting plan:** select it from the list, and enter the information requested.

- **If you have not yet created a database on your web hosting plan:** follow the instructions for creating one, then try again.

- **If you have created a database on your Private SQL or CloudDB instance:** select it from the `Databases outside of your web hosting plan`{.action} list, and enter the information requested. The instance and web hosting plan must be hosted in the same datacentre.

- **If you have created a database on another OVH web hosting plan:** select it from the `Databases outside of your web hosting plan`{.action} list, and enter the information requested. The database and web hosting plan must be hosted in the same datacentre.

##### Configure the module

Now, you will need to enter the following information to configure the module:

- **Admin name or email address:** the username you will use to log in to your CMS admin interface.

- **Password:** the password you will use to log in to your CMS admin interface.

- **Domain:** the domain you wish to install your website on.

- **Language:** the language that the CMS will be installed in.

- **Installation path:** this is automatically entered when you select your domain. You can also add subdirectories to it.

### Step 4: customise your website

You will receive an email confirming that your CMS module has been successfully installed, and you will be prompted to log in to your admin interface. You can then edit your website’s theme, and publish your first pieces of content on it.

Los módulos en un clic permiten instalar un sitio web de forma fácil y rápida sin necesidad de conocimientos técnicos. OVH tiene módulos en un clic de los CMS más conocidos: WordPress, PrestaShop, Drupal y Joomla.

**Esta guía explica cómo instalar un sitio web con nuestros módulos en un clic.**

- Tener contratado un [plan de hosting](https://www.ovh.es/hosting/).

- Estar conectado al [área de cliente de OVH](https://www.ovh.com/auth//).

- No haber descargado archivos en el directorio en el que vaya a instalar el módulo.

- El dominio (y el subdominio, en su caso) que utilice para el sitio web debe estar declarado como multisitio.

### Elegir un CMS

Los CMS (del inglés *content management system*) permiten diseñar un sitio web a través de una interfaz fácil de usar. Existen distintos CMS en función del proyecto que desee crear. Estos módulos le permiten tener la estructura de un sitio web lista para usar, que podrá personalizar a su gusto (diseño, contenido, etc.).

OVH ofrece cuatro CMS con sus módulos en un clic, por lo que podrá elegir el que mejor se adapte a su proyecto. Si ya ha elegido su CMS, solo tiene que seguir los pasos que se indican en esta guía. Si quiere utilizar un CMS que no esté incluido en los módulos en un clic de OVH, puede instalarlo manualmente en su alojamiento, siempre que dicho CMS sea compatible con su [plan de hosting](https://www.ovh.es/hosting/).

### Acceder a la gestión de los módulos en un clic

En la columna izquierda del área de cliente de OVH, haga clic en `Alojamientos`{.action} y seleccione el alojamiento en el que quiera instalar el módulo. A continuación, abra la pestaña `Módulos en un clic`{.action}, desde donde podrá consultar y gestionar los distintos módulos ya instalados, así como añadir un nuevo módulo.

### Añadir un módulo

Para añadir el módulo en un clic, haga clic en el botón `Añadir un módulo`{.action}.

Se abrirá una ventana en la que podrá seleccionar el CMS y el dominio en el que quiera instalar el sitio web.

Si no encuentra el dominio en la lista, abra la pestaña `Multisitio`{.action} para añadirlo, y vuelva a intentar añadir el módulo.

Una vez seleccionado el módulo, deberá elegir entre el modo de instalación simple o avanzado.

- Si selecciona la instalación simple (opción por defecto), OVH se encargará de instalar el CMS y le enviará las claves para que pueda administrarlo. Es la forma más sencilla y rápida de instalar un módulo.

- Si selecciona la instalación avanzada, podrá personalizar la configuración de la instalación del CMS. Para ello, deberá proporcionar diversos datos necesarios para el funcionamiento del CMS en su base de datos: información de conexión, directorio de instalación, idioma, nombre del administrador, etc.

#### Instalación simple de un módulo

Para instalar el módulo en modo simple, asegúrese de que la casilla `Instalación en modo avanzado`{.action} no esté marcada y, a continuación, haga clic en el botón `Instalar`{.action}.

Una vez haya finalizado la instalación, recibirá por correo electrónico la información necesaria para conectarse al panel de administración del CMS. Ya puede conectarse a su CMS para personalizar su sitio web.

#### Instalación avanzada de un módulo

Para instalar el módulo en modo avanzado, asegúrese de que la casilla `Instalación en modo avanzado`{.action} esté marcada y, a continuación, haga clic en el botón `Siguiente`{.action}.

##### Seleccionar la base de datos

Introduzca la información de conexión a la base de datos que utilizará con el módulo. Existen varias posibilidades:

- Si la base de datos ya está creada en el alojamiento, selecciónela e introduzca la información que se le solicita.

- Si la base de datos todavía no está creada en el alojamiento, deberá seguir los pasos que se indican para crearla y, a continuación, seleccionarla e introducir la información que se le solicita.

- Si la base de datos ya está creada en un SQL Privado o CloudDB, seleccione `Base de datos externa al alojamiento web`{.action} e introduzca la información que se le solicita. El SQL Privado o CloudDB y el plan de hosting deben estar alojados en el mismo datacenter.

- Si la base de datos ya está creada en otro alojamiento web de OVH, seleccione `Base de datos externa al alojamiento web`{.action} e introduzca la información que se le solicita. La base de datos y el plan de hosting deben estar alojados en el mismo datacenter.

##### Configurar el módulo

Para configurar el módulo, introduzca los siguientes datos:

- **Nombre o dirección de correo electrónico del administrador:** Identificador que utilizará para conectarse al panel de administración de su CMS.

- **Contraseña:** Contraseña que utilizará para conectarse al panel de administración de su CMS.

- **Dominio:** Dominio en el que desea instalar su sitio web.

### Personalizar el sitio web

Recibirá un mensaje de correo electrónico confirmándole que el módulo CMS se ha instalado correctamente e invitándole a conectarse a su panel de administración. Desde ahí, podrá cambiar el tema de su sitio web y publicar sus primeros contenidos.
