Is it possible to send mail through Nodemailer?

I'm wondering if it's possible to send verification email to users through Nodemailer? Thanks.

P.S:
I'm planing to deploy my app into aws ec2. It seems there is a sendmail installed in my linux ec2 instance. If there is a way to send email directly through that?

I am not familiar with nodemailer, but it seems like you should be able to do this.
