It's spaghetti, yes, but I'm doing some exploratory work and wanted to map out processes through process of elimination with this data.
When I plug this straight into D3, it renders just fine but will not render in the browser through plotly

Hi @joetristano,
I think this is probably a duplicate of #1536, which has been reported to plotly.js as plotly/plotly.js#3813, and further reported upstream at tomshanley/d3-sankey-circular#35.
Does that look consistent to you? If so, let's close this issue and add any additional info to the upstream issues.

@jonmmease I can get a simple circular sankey to render but not a complex one. So these may be two separate issues
