I tried to upgrade but the aether tests are failing (not sure why they didn't with the snapshot though). Looking at that.

@wilkinsona I don't get why those tests are failing and what magic switch you should enable to make them work.

Had a quick look. I don't get it either. Those dependencies should be resolved from the local cache. Perhaps the Aether upgrade (0.9.1 to 1.0.2) changed behaviour but only for non-snapshot dependencies?

Maybe try to clear the maven / gradle cache ?

I added the milestone repo. We may need to revisit this decision, I've created #3051 to track this.
