Potential issue regarding spatial packages with MacOS 11 (Big Sur)

There's an issue on the macOS recipes repository for R that spatial packages may not yet work on macOS 11 (Big Sur): R-macos/recipes#14

It looks like there may be a partial solution here: r-spatial/sf#1502 (comment)

That being said, any maintainers using macOS should be wary about updating for now (as has been unfortunately common in the last few years of macOS release cycles).

This problem is now fixed on CRAN. You can install the packages from CRAN in the regular way.
