Video conferencing is very opinionated about when it will start (denied if no accessible microphone)

Mostly I discover this as I'm reproducing bugs, but if I want to initiate/join a jitsi conference from my desktop that doesn't have a microphone, why can't I? Listening to other people speak/sharing my desktop is a perfectly valid usecase :(

It is good and important to _warn_ if there's no mic, but I'd like the option to power through regardless
